Cottonwood Park is one of those treasures that you can forget exists here in Prince George. It is a nice walk to explore that shows the real beauty of nature and the drastic change in seasons. In Fall it is an explosion of red, purples, yellows and oranges, the air is crisp the wind whistles and the crunch of leaves creates sound in a rather silent place. In the winter the snow clings to everything and muffles so many of the sounds around you, the cold air feels still, and you know that many animals hide in their homes to keep warm. In the spring we see an explosion of green and life as everything begins to wake up. In the summer we feel the head, the wind being the only thing that cools you down. It is a great place to go to show students how the weather wheel works.
