I would define standard 4 as drawing awareness of the root system connected to each student we teach. All students come with a support network and that support network is geared to ensuring that that child is safe and grows up to be a well rounded adult. I had a student in my class who would not be in school for weeks at a time, they were going through medical issues and the students parents and I worked together to insure that the student would not fall behind, I set a reminded on my phone for weekly wellness checks about the student, with the parents and I would send the work but I always prefaced it with “Please do not worry about due dates I accept late work”. The point is that we worked together to insure that their child was able to keep their mind active while they dealt with their health stuff.
