I think Standard 8, Standard 3 and Standard 4 are all geared towards not believing that teaching happens in a vacuum. We as teachers work in a space that can create a lot of good in the lives of students regardless of the students age and we are presented opportunities to contribute to that field. My LOP was the greatest opportunity I was ever presented with. I know I won’t change the field but I was able to cement my love of teaching and I was able to help ensure that those students and a teacher. My LOP has also helped me with my fellow teacher candidates, I am able to demystify part of teaching for them and help them through their ideas with lesson plans.
