Block 4 felt like a mix of the longest and the shortest of our blocks. On one hand we only had 6 weeks of school three days of school per week. On the other hand we had a very condensed schedule that took us all over Prince George, The SY’s went to Lheildi T’enneh memorial park, the Pit house and Shane lake, the David Douglas Community garden, we visited an Apiary, Eskers Park, we did wheel chair basketball, the native friendship center, Masich Place and Theater Northwest. All of these trips we done with the goal of learning about Prince George and the communities that call this place home. It is impossible to describe how many communities live in Prince George and how welcoming they all are. As a Teacher candidate it was humbling to learn that many people in our community are knowledge holders who want to teach people things. There is a great vulnerability in giving you class over to another knowledge holder but you have to push aside your ego and thing of the greater good that it would do for your students.
